Two New Affiliate Locations This Spring

March 10, 2020 (Ironton, MN)- Leah Jacobson, Founder and CEO of The Guiding Star Project, proudly announces the upcoming opening of Guiding Star At the Shores (New Jersey) and Guiding Star Marshalltown (Iowa), adding to a national network of Guiding Star Centers now reaching seven locations.

Each Guiding Star Center contributes to a long-needed cultural and healthcare shift that affirms the beauty and dignity of women by supporting rather than suppressing a woman’s natural biological state of health. Services at Guiding Star locations includes Natural Fertility & Family Planning, Pregnancy & Childbirth Services, Breastfeeding & Postpartum Services, and Family Life Services.

Guiding Star At the Shores

Guiding Star At the Shores, set to open in Spring 2020, will be located in Galloway, New Jersey. Executive Director, Felonee Joo, says,

“Guiding Star At the Shores was developed here in South Jersey to fulfill a void in women’s healthcare. South Jersey already has pregnancy resource centers that address unplanned pregnancies and assist women in a variety of crisis situations. There are also a variety of direct medical providers for women that are looking for a more modern approach. However, South Jersey is lacking in many areas of Wholisitic Healthcare options, and we see many women suffering without these vital tools, or having to travel long distances in search of the care they desire. Guiding Star At the Shores is designed to be a safe, welcoming environment for ALL women during their many journeys of life.”

Guiding Star Marshalltown

Guiding Star Marshalltown is set to open May 1, 2020, and will be located at:
2501 S. Center St. Suite Q
Marshalltown, Iowa 50158

Executive Director, Mary Mauk, and husband Mark Mauk, saw a need to provide life-affirming healthcare services in their area, and began working with Fertility Care Practitioner, Linda Jacobs, to open a Guiding Star affiliate location.

Guiding Star Cycle Show Instructor and Creighton Model Fertility Care Practitioner, Linda Jacobs says,

“I will be providing fertility awareness and reproductive education through cycle-charting sessions and Cycle Show Workshops for girls ages 9–13. We have also partnered with a Certified Birth and Bereavement Doula, an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant and masters-prepared educators in counseling and early childhood development. Through these partnerships, we will offer classes, support groups and resources in pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum, breastfeeding, miscarriage/infant loss, adoption and child development. As with all Guiding Star centers, we will offer free child-watch and hope to add many more family-life services as we grow.”
