Our Guiding Star Centers honor the natural gift of fertility and the crucial role of motherhood in society. We uphold that fertility is a healthy biological process that women can understand and embrace. Each of our centers empowers women with fertility care services through in-person or online natural fertility methods and family planning classes.

Take Control of Your Health

Did you know the fertility (menstrual) cycle is the fifth vital sign of health for women? Understanding the female fertility cycle is an essential piece for every woman to know in order to achieve greater overall health and wellness. We believe women deserve the right to be educated on the natural biological functions of their bodies in order to advocate for their overall health and make informed decisions over their own fertility and reproductive health.

The use of artificial hormones, contraceptives, and devices tend to be the norm in mainstream health care today. They are often prescribed for a variety of women’s health issues unrelated to the prevention of pregnancy. This umbrella solution results in a “band-aid” effect without addressing the root cause. These artificial methods have been shown effective in helping women avoid pregnancy, however, they are not fool proof, are made with toxic chemicals, and come with a long list of negative side effects that can greatly impact a women’s overall health.

It is possible for women to take control of their health and fertility when they are given the knowledge about the natural biological functions of their bodies. Women have the right to know that they do have options—ones that work in harmony with the natural biological functions of the female body rather than ones that disrupt or suppress their feminine gifts. Every woman can use natural fertility tracking methods effectively—even if she has irregular cycles!

Know Your Options

There are a variety of natural and modern birth control methods available to choose from today. Not to be confused with its outdated predecessor known as the “rhythm method”, Natural Fertility Methods (NFMs) are modern fertility tracking methods that are scientifically backed and proven to be just as effective if not more than the use of artificial contraceptives and hormonal birth control. NFMs rely on the observations of the natural patterns of a women’s body that easily can be leveraged to avoid or achieve pregnancy without the use of harmful chemicals and negative side effects associated with artificial methods and devices.

There are a variety of NFM’s available to choose from that empower women to embrace their natural bodies while also providing flexibility. The beauty of NFM’s is that they can be used during every stage of a women’s life (even postpartum) and the method in use can be changed at a moment’s notice to fit the women’s need at that time.

When first learning a new method, it is recommended to work with a certified instructor to achieve greater success. Once familiar with the practice, it takes only a few minutes a day. By observing the signs and patterns of her natural body, a woman can achieve greater overall wellness as well as identify her ovulation phase (fertile window) which actually makes up a very small portion of the female fertility cycle in order to naturally avoid or achieve pregnancy if that is what she wishes.

Below is a list of trusted and researched NFMs to consider when starting your journey in cycle tracking.

The Cervical Mucus Methods — These methods include the careful observation and charting of the absence or presence of a woman’s cervical mucus on a day-to-day basis.

  • Creighton Model

  • Family of America’s Foundation Method

Sympto-Thermal Methods — These methods include the careful observation and charting of several fertility signs on a daily basis, including cervical mucus, basal body temperature, and the optional cervix sign.

Sympto-Hormonal Methods — These methods include the careful observation and charting of the absence and presence of cervical mucus while using an electronic fertility monitor to measure reproductive hormones on a daily basis.
