The Guiding Star Project Participates in Women’s History Month
Stephens City, VA – The Guiding Star Project is participating in Women’s History Month this year with a “New Feminism Quote Contest” on their Facebook and twitter pages. “We wanted to take advantage of the extra attention that is given to women’s contributions throughout history to spread the message of New Feminism in a fun way,” said Leah Jacobson, Founder of the Guiding Star Project. Laura Ricketts, Executive Director added, “While we think it’s a little silly to try to reduce the contributions of women throughout history to one month, we recognize that there was a time when women’s roles in the development of our society were overlooked and undervalued. We are just thankful that we are now in an era when the message of New Feminism is resonating – the idea that men and women are equal, but different, and that these differences are good!”
The Guiding Star Project website (http://theguidingstarproject.com) will not only feature New Feminism themed quotes throughout the month of March, but will also showcase several blog posts that will raise awareness about the issues facing today’s women. The Guiding Star Facebook and Twitter pages will share information that may be slightly different from the “typical” Women’s History Month themes, for example; interviews and writings by Margaret Sanger that shed light on her real motives as a second wave feminist, eugenist, and population control advocate who disagreed with Natural Law. According to Mrs. Jacobson “If we want to truly understand the recent history of women in the U.S. we need to understand this woman and her actual views.”
The Guiding Star Project is the next stage of the pro-woman & pro-life movement committed to creating holistic, comprehensive centers nationwide that provide support for natural means of family planning, fertility care, childbirth, breastfeeding, and family life.
