Our Guiding Star Centers

We have a bold vision to bring Guiding Star Centers to all 50 states—restoring wholistic, life-affirming care for every woman. Your support will help make this vision a reality.

In February 2022, Guiding Star Tampa proudly became an affiliate of the Guiding Star Project, with a mission to provide holistic women’s healthcare, pregnancy, and birthing services to the Tampa Bay community.

Tammara (Tammy) Masut, one of the founding members, now serves as the Clinical Director. A lifelong advocate for women—especially those navigating unexpected pregnancies—Tammy is deeply committed to ensuring access to compassionate, quality, wholistic care for all women, regardless of their socio-economic background.

Tammy has caught over 1000 babies during her career, provided well-woman exams to 298 uninsured women last year alone, and well as walked through the abortion pill reversal process with multiple women. Guiding Star Tampa is firmly rooted in the national project’s values and shares its mission of restoring wholistic, life-affirming care for women.

While Guiding Star Tampa initially operated virtually, an exciting milestone was reached in 2024 when it became the first corporately owned Guiding Star Center by the national project and found a physical location in Largo, FL. The center officially opened its doors to patients in January 2025. Since opening, Tammy and her dedicated team of midwives have already supported three mothers through natural births in the walls of the new birth center and are scheduled to walk with 27 more families through their birthing journeys this year.

Providing authentic women’s healthcare through fertility, pregnancy, childbirth, breastfeeding, postpartum, and family life services, Guiding Star Siouxland is the first place that women can look to for support and education in understanding, embracing, and loving their natural bodies.

Located in West St. Paul Minnesota, Wakota has focused on addressing the needs of pregnant women and their children, since its founding in 1976—by two physicians and a group of local citizens. For more than four decades, they have promoted and provided positive alternatives to abortion, along with the support and assistance women need to successfully carry their pregnancies to term, care for their infants, and build healthy families. Guiding Star Wakota primarily serves women and their families who reside in northern Dakota County (West St. Paul, South St. Paul, Inver Grove Heights, Eagan, and Mendota Heights) and in St. Paul’s heavily Hispanic/Latino West Side located in Ramsey County. Approximately 25 percent of our clients live outside our traditional service area. In December 2021, Guiding Star Wakota completed a $3 million capital campaign and moved into its new 10,000-square-foot headquarters. The increase in space facilitated an expansion of services to include fertility awareness classes, support groups for parents, personal development services, 1:1 mentoring for fathers, and much more.

Guiding Star Crosby was founded in June 2024. Located in the heart of downtown Crosby, Minnesota. This location also serves as the headquarters for Guiding Star Project’s National Office and currently offers classes from the national Guiding Star Curriculum, along with the accompanying support groups. Additional services will be available soon including Lactation Consultant visits with Leah A. Jacobson, Founder of Guiding Star Project, as well as natural fertility awareness methods.

Guiding Star Southwest was originally founded as House of Hope, when a young woman named Angelica Rosales answered the call to open a pregnancy help center. Angie had always been passionate about helping women in crisis pregnancies, because her own mother, Rose, pregnant at the age of 42, had been told to terminate her pregnancy since she also had a serious heart condition. However, against all odds, Rose chose to fight for her daughter’s life. Knowing she owed her life to her mom’s courageous choice, Angie wanted to help others in similar situations. With the help of her sister Kathy, the Rosales and Santos family, and a group of passionate friends, the doors of House of Hope opened in 2002 and later became a medical facility in 2007.

In 2010, Nydia Correa became the new director of House of Hope and over the following six years, she became aware of the changing and growing gap within women and family health care in El Paso. There is little focus on basic proactive well-woman care, and existing family resources are often unknown, spread across the city, and difficult to access. Furthermore, House of Hope lacked strong name recognition and branding. In 2016, Nydia learned about the vision and mission of The Guiding Star Project and recognized it as the solution to meet these needs in El Paso, announcing our change to Guiding Star Southwest at our 2017 Gala to over 1,100 supporters.

This new vision included moving into a new, larger building in May 2018 and then sub-leasing office space to like-minded, life-affirming care providers to create a “one-stop supercenter” of wholistic, comprehensive well-woman and family care—all under one roof, in one convenient, professional, welcoming location—with a mission of working together to build a local culture of life. This flexible model will facilitate cooperation to provide support for natural means of family planning, fertility and infertility care, pregnancy, childbirth, breastfeeding, adoption, pregnancy loss, post-abortion care, marriage, and family life. We are exploring partnerships with care providers in areas such as obstetrics and gynecology, natural osteopathy, nutrition, doula and midwifery, lactation consulting, various holistic therapies, and community outreach.
